Amazon and Booksurge

  • Mar. 31st, 2008 at 7:56 AM

Do you love books? Do you read a lot and do you do most of your purchases through Amazon. Well you should be aware the Amazon is attempting an underhanded coup of small publishers by preventing any POD publisher but their own Booksurge from selling books through Amazon.

To read the whole story visit Angela Hoy's site:

Or sign this petition to let Amazon know how mad you are:

Let Amazon know that you don't accept their policy of exclusion and they need to go back to their Vision Statement, taken directly from their website:

"Our vision is to be earth's most customer centric company; to build a place where people can come to find and discover anything they might want to buy online."

I don't see anything in there about only buying books from Booksurge.

They are setting it up so that anyone who wants to participate in the Amazon.com Advantage Program, would have to pay Amazon $29.95 per year PLUS 55% of the list price of their book, so in essence Amazon gets paid twice to list a book, plus if they can force all small publishers to use their POD, Booksurge, they make money there too. This is outrageous.
